Brisbane's vintage lovers will be in seventh heaven when The Way We Wear brings their twice yearly vintage fair to the Mt Gravatt Showgrounds. The three day fair will commence on Friday evening, March 30, 2012, at 6pm and close on Sunday, April 1, at 3pm.


Launched in 2007, the fair has evolved from seven dealers on one level to thirty dealers on two levels of the Mt Gravatt Showgrounds Community Hall and Hamlyn-Harris Pavilion.

Just some of the fabulous antique and vintage fashion you will find at the fair includes flapper dresses from the roaring 20s, micro minis from the swinging 60s, and big-shouldered dresses from the decadent 80s (think Dynasty). And don't forget the accessories; glamorous gloves, gorgeous jewellery, pretty parasols and handsome hats.


Last year, the fair also added vintage and retro homewares from the 40s through to the 80s. Amid the homewares, you will find photographs, collectables, linen, and lace.

Don't miss the 'Send Her Victorious' exhibition, celebrating sixty years of Queen Elizabeth II; fun fashion and way of life from the 50s.

Tickets cost $10 for multiple entry; click here for a discount entry voucher. If you can only make it to the fair on Sunday, get a half price ticket from 1pm – 3pm.

Another way to get involved is 'People's Hang Ups'. Perhaps you have a cupboard full of pre-loved clothing that either doesn't fit anymore or you can't possibly see yourself wearing again. Or maybe your jewellery box is overflowing with costume jewellery.

Selling at 'People's Hang Ups' is simple; choose which day you would like to attend the fair and for $25 you can bring twenty five items to sell. Clothes racks or tables will be provided. Space is limited. For more information, click here.
