A brand new Fringe Festival brews in North Hobart, Tasmania, beckoning your attention and injecting the already vibrant Tasmanian arts scene with four nights of uncensored, walk on the wild side, performing arts. Fringe at the Edge of the World runs from 3 to 6 January 2019; a small, yet action-packed event with artists from across Australia performing in various venues that include the Voodoo Bar; Republic; and Polish Club.

Showcasing comedy, music, theatre, and more, locals get a chance to test a festival show on home soil, and interstate performers get to experience the superb Tasmanian arts scene first hand. Everyone gets a chance to hit centre stage, so keep living life on the edge and head for a show! Get bragging rights for being one of the first to be at Tassie's inaugural Fringe Fest! Check here for shows and schedules and click each link for more information about the show and to book tickets.

Kicking off at the Voodoo Bar, 1 Pitt St, North Hobart on 3 Jan 2019, it's hosting 3 banging shows at 6.30pm Living with Sybil, 8pm F.M.L and 9.30pm 2 Boys 1 Mic (No Cup). Described as bold and funny, Kerri Gay aka Sybil is storytelling at its very best. The locals are doing it for themselves with kick ass-local-comedy-legends, Isabella Roldan & Ashlee Cairns aka F.M.L. touching on a dash of filth and their special blend of silliness. Melbournians Firdi Billimoria and Perri Cassie will be splitting it, and you, down the middle in 2 Boys 1 Mic.

It's going to be a tough first night, as simultaneously, you'll find shows running at the Republic and the Polish Club between 6.30pm and 9.30pm as well. Tash York (The Desperettes, The After Hours Cabaret Club), award-winning cabaret artist will give you a taste of her ballsy voice, witty repartee and wine loving antics in Adulting, which she's not quite mastered!

Fresh and half-baked, a dirty granny, sly scientist, sassy thespian, slightly mad mum and a whippersnapper will bring you variety, hilarity and an absolute loss of inhibition in Half Baked. Do check out the other shows and schedule and give this brand new event a good lineup of support, while having a good time! Follow their Facebook page and stay updated.
