If you like your films to feature (proper) blood-thirsty Vampires, mad scientists, merciless zombies, and strange martians who kidnap Santa Claus, because they aren't on his naughty or nice list, then you're in for a treat!
Every Friday night until December 3rd, you can enjoy a cult classic - from the 1930s, 1940s, 1950s and 1960s, on the Big Screen at Fed Square at 11.30pm until 1am. These special film screenings entitled 'Frightful Films' will feature a screening of two B-films (or is that Z-films?) back-to-back. You can even cast your vote for which films you would like to see on the 'Frightful Films' Facebook page.
Currently there is one film scheduled for each Friday screening - the second feature is voted by the public! Check Facebook or the Fed Sq website to see the scheduled second feature film.
On the 19th of November, the main feature is The Vampire Bat (1933) - a notable American horror, mystery directed by Frank R. Strayer.
On the 26th of November, the main feature is Plan 9 from Other Space (1958) - wildly referred to as 'The Worst Film Ever Made', directed by Ed Wood - one of the most misunderstood figures in cinematic history, who was the subject of Tim Burton's Academy Award winning biopic Ed Wood (1994).
On the 3rd of December, the main feature is Santa Claus Conquers the Martians (1964) - a sci-fi fantasy film which has also been cited as one of the 'The Fifty Worst Films of All Time' - yet remains a beloved holiday staple alongside some other horrific Christmas films.
So enjoy Friday night, which some horror, laughs and downright oddness during this special season of films at Fed Square!
