Friend with Kids in parts is a rather funny film, and most of the time the scenes were quite busy. No doubt, the writer of this film would have worked extremely hard on the dialogue.

Filmed in New York, it is about people who just love kids. The highs and lows of couples with kids, as well as a couple of friends deciding to have a kid together is highlighted. Like a platonic relationship.

The main characters, Julie and Jason are in professional jobs, and they were once lovers turned really close friends. They have been friends for well over 19 years, even going to college together. They had sex, and they got pregnant and had Joe. Their fifty-fifty custody arrangement went well most of the time until things began to go pear shaped: especially when Julie declared her love for Jason (yet she was in love with another beautiful man (Kurt) who she met at an elementary school meeting) and Jason just wasn't interested (or rather ready) at the time as he was dating someone else. That's right, they had this child together and they both gave each other permission to go on dates. Yes they were happy.

Things got complicated when Jason broke up with MJ (an entertainer) who he met while walking with a baby pram in tow, while MJ was walking a neighbour's dog. They ended up moving in together, yet not long thereafter they broke up.

When Julie declared her love for Jason, and Jason did not want one iota of this love (he saw Julie as a beautiful friend sharing a kid together) Julia moved from Manhattan to Brooklyn with Joe. Jason was still allowed to see Joe as often as he wanted to. The catch: he had to commute to Brooklyn to do so.

Quite an entertaining film. If you have kids of your own you will love it, and conversely if you don't have kids you will like this feel good entertaining film just as much.

No prizes for guessing what happens at the end. I need to leave at least one massive, sweet and juicy surprise for you.
