Hosted by Friends of Kororoit Creek, a family fun day has been planned for the National Tree Day Celebrations. There is limited capacity so be sure to register to book your spot. The event is on Sunday 1 August 2021 from 10am to 1pm AEST at The Bug Rug, Kororoit Creek Trail, Sunshine West. Accessible via Sanders Ave and Derby Road/Mayne Street, West Sunshine. Entries and site are wheelchair and mobility scooter accessible. However, as we live in uncertain times in regard to the pandemic, it is best to keep in touch with the Brimbank City Council for updates in regard to the event and to direct your queries to them if you have any.
If all goes to plan, there'll be planting activities of 4000 grasses, wildflowers, shrubs and trees at the gorgeous Bug Rug site. Enjoy a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony, art activities and children's entertainment, music and a BBQ. Please bring your own everything in regard to gloves, reusable water bottles and so on. Wearing long pants, shirts and sturdy shoes would be a wise thing. Hand sanitiser will be available on site and of course, if you're unwell, do the right thing and stay home. If you're bringing your pooch, please keep your dogs on a lead for the comfort of all attendees. Any queries can also be answered by ringing Jessica on 0449 069 962.
