It's holiday time so it's an ideal opportunity to visit "Friends, Foes and Super Heroes" currently exhibiting on the beautiful Frankston Waterfront. This location has been home to the annual Sand Sculpting exhibition since 2007, when it relocated from the Rye foreshore.

Here over twenty-five favourites from Disney, Pixar and Marvel as well as six exhibits from Star Wars will vie for the attention of you and your children. All are the product of 5000 hours of work by artists from around the world

There's a lot of fun to be had by all ages visiting the buddies, the enemies and the super-dooper heroes of our movie and comic book stories. Some will be embedded in your memory and others you may only have a shallow knowledge of, but I'm sure all will be recognisable, if not by you, then by your children.

You'll visit the ever-popular favourites of Yoda, Darth Vadar and my special one, R2D2 who seem to be overseeing all that goes on around them. As you stroll along the sandy paths, you are able to examine the intricate work involved in producing these masterpieces in sand. There is usually at least one of the artists present, either completing or repairing their work of art.

These twenty Australian and international artists have produced such wonderful reproductions as Spiderman, the Avengers, Mickey & Minnie Mouse, Peter Pan, the Evil Queen and most of the cast of Disney's Frozen. You'll find Lightning McQueen and his mate, tow truck Mater and many, many more.

There're plenty of other activities to occupy the little ones such as the very popular sand diggers ($2 to have a dig), and a large sand pit with space for Mum or Dad to oversee their activities from the adjacent deck chairs.

Other activities include face painting, workshops on Sand Art and Sand Bottling, a Lego Play Zone, an interactive photo opportunity with the Disney fairies and a children's Activity Questionnaire
