I will only write about places that I've had a great experience. There are so many local heroes around Adelaide and I want to try and share them all.

5pm Friday just got even better

'After 5' is one of those terms everyone understands, it represents the shift from work mode to unwind or party mode. Across the Western World there is an anticipation for 5 o'clock Friday, not so much because it ends the week but more so that it starts our weekend. Set your google maps to something a little closer to home and you will find the aptly named event 'Fridays after Five - Aldinga'.

Every Friday evening during Summer, Old Coach Rd Aldinga will be transformed into a bustling event filled with food, wine, music, market stalls and an out door cinema.
The event is Family friendly so bring the kids along.

Be sure to come hungry. There are food trucks and food vendors filling the air with a mouth watering aroma. Home Grain Bakery will be open late - check out their famous pies, Maxwells Groceries will also be open - be sure to try one of those boutique burgers and fresh juices.

You will find regular mobile food vendors like Mullygrub food truck - fine grub you wouldn't expect from a truck, El Choto- creating traditional paella right before your eyes. As the coming weeks roll in, so will other food trucks - the likes of Weinerbago, Chimichurri, Delectaballs, Mr Twister, Sicily Street Food - that's just to name a few.

For all those who enjoy a quality glass of wine (or two) be sure to visit the good people from Down The Rabbit Hole wines - you will find them in their beautiful & eclectic alleyway bar. Down The Rabbit Hole will be selling wine by the glass or bottle and they will also be offering cellar door tastings, so be sure to pay them a visit.

If you choose to venture a little further down the street you will come across local establishments The Old Vine and Shredded Wrap and Roll. The Old Vine are serving up wood fired pizzas and Shredded Wrap and Roll are serving up slow cooked meat with delicious toppings.

Once you've filled your belly be sure to browse the alternating mix of market stalls and meet the clever creators standing behind them. Some will be selling items for your home like candles, homewares, furniture and art. Pick up something for yourself like clothing, jewellery and skincare. Find edibles like cheeses, ice blocks, gourmet (healthy) treats, bliss balls and teas. Rummage through vintage treasures and vinyl records.

Miss Gladys on Sea will also be open so you can shop their beautiful boutique wears.

Not many events can boast an out door cinema - Fridays after Five are screening classic movies on the wall from 7:20pm. Every week Fridays after Five are also showcasing South Aussie musicians with a different artist performing live every week.

This looks fantastic. Most people just go straight to the pub, but this looks like a more balanced option. Nice article
