Children love stories at the best of times, but stories told against the stunning native bush backdrop of the Australian National Botanic Gardens become even more magical.

Friday Storytime for Preschoolers takes place on the first Friday of every month for one hour at the Australian National Botanic Gardens (although children are encouraged to get up and move around and don't have to sit still for this long).

ACT Storytellers read stories, sing songs, recite rhymes and lead other engaging activities for children in a friendly, relaxed environment. Parents, grandparents and carers are also encouraged to participate.

Entry is $5 per child (which goes to the Gardens – a very worthy cause).

No bookings are required – just turn up on the day.

There is a different theme each month, as follows:

September 2016 – Flower Fairies and Magical Folk
October 2016 – Birthday Stories
November 2016 – Summer Stories
