River Quay Green

[ADVERT]On a recent Friday evening, we headed into South Bank to wind down the week. Not just for workers on their way home, South Bank on a Friday night is great for families too. The kids had a swim at Streets Beach, I wandered the Lifestyle Market, and then we grabbed a bite to eat at Grill'd.

Friday evenings at South Bank just got even better, with Mellow Music on the Green; free, live music set against the beautiful backdrop of the Brisbane River and the city skyline. Every Friday, from 6 to 8pm, some of Brisbane's best musicians will perform melodious, laid-back tunes on the River Quay Green.

Pack a picnic and relax on a rug, or meet up with friends for a drink at River Quay, overlooking the amphitheatre.

After catching some tunes, meander the moonlit market. The South Bank Lifestyle Market fills Stanley Street Plaza, every Friday night from 5 until 10pm, with a myriad of market stalls, including arts, craft, clothing, jewellery, and much more.

Have a late dinner at one of South Bank's trendy restaurants. The Plough Inn , located on Stanley Street Plaza, is a popular choice. Other restaurants that have been recently reviewed by Weekend Notes writers include Sardine Tin, Ahmet's Turkish Restaurant , The Crepe Cafe, and Ginga Sushi Bar.
