A freelance writer and father of two, I am interested in almost anything the ever-changing city of Brisbane has to offer. When I am not seeking the kid-friendly and affordable, I am tracking the home-grown and the unique... Come and discover with me!
As the name suggests, Ecclectica Esoteric Bookstore and Curiosities is already a destination of choice for readers seeking the arcane and alternative. This Friday 13th July, however, the reading list at this most unique of West End retail outlets includes not just unusual and hard-to-find literature, but hearts, minds, past lives and future potentials, as a long-awaited broadening of occult operations comes to 163 Boundary Street in the form of the inaugural Ecclectica Psychic Fair.
Peerless promoter of Pagan principles Andrea Wilkes invites all seekers of soul-secrets to join her after 5:30pm for an evening with some of Brisbane's most respected examiners of the etheric. Untangle time with the Tarot, ride reality's outer rim with the Runes, cut through the clinging clouds with a Clairvoyant, or instigate insight with an Intuitive—whatever your preferred path to perception, you will find a glad greeting at the gateway from one of seven gifted guides in attendance.
However, if fates and futures fail to fascinate this Friday, simply escape the evening chill with a rare after-hours adventure through Ecclectica's crackerjack collection of choice curiosities and recondite reads. Andrea and her wonderful witchy crew warmly welcome all comers with cryptic canapes, cosmic champers and cosy companionship.
Hahaha - thanks Debra - yes, when it comes to this sort of thing, they certainly have the connections down Ecclectica way. Here's an insider tip - this is set to become the beginning of a tradition for every Friday 13th in a calendar year. There are no more this year but stay tuned for next year- and in the meantime I'll be publicising other future Ecclectica events as they arise (hopefully with more lead-time from now on). All I can say is: if it looks good to you, send the info around, as they would love the support. Speaking of loving support - your kind words are always appreciated. Thanks :-)
