Young Scientists Speak For The Future
Victoria Fresh Scientists is a competition, which is run in each state of Australia. It assists early-career researchers with their findings and helping them to share their stories of discoveries. These fresh scientists have no previous media experience yet the competition gives them the confidence to be able to speak in public with a day's training in media and public address/communication. This year, training in Melbourne will take place on Tuesday 19th June at the Royal Society of Victoria. The following evening participants will have the opportunity to orate their topics to business and government of the Royal Society of Victoria.

Wednesday 20th June will be a great night to come and listen to this year's Fresh Scientists who will reveal to you their discoveries using rhyme, reason and the odd firework. You may find the subjects very interesting. Last year's subjects included ocean arteries, backward planets, the sawfish saw, smart bandages and more.

Tickets to this event are free, however, bookings are essential. The event is to be held at the Belgium Beer Café, Southbank Melbourne from 6.00 to 8.00pm.
