Fresh-n-Fast is an unpretentious café with a split personality, perched with one foot inside the Oasis Shopping Centre and the other in the Broadbeach Mall. Rubbing shoulders with the kebab shop next door, this undeniably Aussie cafe is punching above its weight.

The outside counter offers modern Australian and Mediterranean-style salads to enjoy on their own, or to mix and match. For a more substantial meal, add something from the top shelf, such as a yummy slice of frittata, lasagne or chicken parmigiana.The inside counter displays all the makings for fresh juices, smoothies and focaccia sandwiches.
They have a grill cook on standby if what you really want is bacon and eggs, fish-n-chips or a burger. This is basic greasy spoon fare, but it is exactly what I remember from those childhood holidays by the sea so long ago. It ticks all the boxes.

Fresh n Fast has that homely touch. The staff are real people who make eye contact and sincerely wish you well. They have been preparing all this glorious food since the early hours of the morning, and yet they can still find a smile for every customer throughout the midday rush.
There is indeed nothing fancy about this place, but they are fastidiously clean and well organised. What impressed me was that most meals are served on white ceramic plates, with real knives and forks. Not only does this make the meal more enjoyable, but it appeals to the eco-friendly part of me.
Good old fashioned and hearty roast dinners are popular with many local residents, and you can see why from the huge array of luscious roast meats and golden roasted vegetables.
Open 5am to 9.30pm every day!The fresh juice and smoothie bar is super popular with early morning patrons from the fitness centre, and it's the perfect spot for a coffee after that morning walk along the beach.
Most other cafes will only operate early or late, but this little cafe is open for every meal of the day, from the early bird to the late evening straggler. They have something for everyone, morning, noon and night.
Getting there
The Broadbeach Mall and the Oasis Centre are only a couyple of minutes' walk from the Broadbeach South Station of the GLink light rail.
By car, make the most of the FREE 3-hour parking in the underground parking station of Oasis Shopping Centre. Access from roundabout in Victoria Avenue or from Charles Street.
The café is located just across from the checkout area of Woolworths, at the left-hand side of the main doors leading out to the Mall. However, don't try taking your shopping trolley outside as the wheels become immediately demobilised once you go through the sliding doors! Eat first. Shop later.
