Frenchies is a new cafe on Bay Terrace in the heart of Wynnum that welcomes all patrons with pooches or not. A canine theme of French Bulldogs mixed with a patchwork of 160 old denim jeans adorns the walls of the cafe with a special cosy 'nook' and reading room at the rear.

The cafe is homage to the love of owners Joanna and Kieran's French Bulldogs. There are special drinking bowls outside and drinking bottles and mats on offer and 5 tables outdoors alongside Bay Terrace with partions to the roadside. A doggy chino is on the menu for the canines needing that coffee fix!
You don't have to be a dog lover to enjoy Frenchies. I enjoyed a hearty BLT lunch for $9 with a breakfast of themed delights such as 'Great Dane', 'The Whippet' or a healthy muesli option 'The Cyclist'. Burger treats include 'The Working Dog' and its counterpart 'Red Dog' which is a French burger bun with steak, fried egg, cheese, tomato and lettuce all for $8.
The lunch menu lends itself to a French influence with 'Le Burger' at $10 consisting of a beef patty with accompaniments, or try 'The French Skewer' of two marinated lamb steaks with onion and capsicum, for also $10.
Frenchies is a welcome addition to the burgeoning Wynnum cafe scene which is blessed with several delightful cafes with the friendly customer service that this welcoming community offers, and just a stroll to the lovely Wynnum foreshore.
Frenchies is at 142 Bay Terrace in Wynnum Central adjacent to the second hand bookshop, Bayside Books. It's open daily from 6am to 6pm and all dogs are welcome. Call (07) 3396 0011 for menu information or to make a booking and check out their Facebook page.
The hosts Joanna and Kieran are very friendly, welcoming and obliging. They'll do everything they can to make your visit enjoyable. The illy coffee is wonderful. Definitely worth a visit with or without your furry friend
