[ADVERT]Looking for a tropical destination for your next holiday? Hoping to experience a new culture and see the beauty that attracted French artist Paul Gauguin to Tahiti, as well as countless honeymooners? Or considering forming links with Polynesian businesses? Then mark your diaries for the inaugural French Polynesian Festival at historic Como House, South Yarra from the 25th to 28th October 2012.

Hosted by N&C Pacifique and N&C the French Touch, the festival will feature a Polynesian village in the grounds of Como House comprising stalls with products and services by over thirty Tahitian organizations. All things related to French Polynesia will be promoted during this festival - from traditional arts and crafts to music, dance and food. You can learn about new tourist destinations and attractions and major sporting events like the Moorea Marathon and the Tahiti Pearl Regatta.

There will be performances by award-winning dance and musical troupe, O Tahiti E and demonstrations of unique arts and crafts like monoi making (perfume oil); pareu wearing; wood and mother-of-pearl carving, tattoo art, and shell jewellery making.

You can also view a photographic exhibition by La Maison de la Culture (Polynesian Ministry of Culture).

Purchase meals from an international food court and try some delicacies typical of the Islands such as Tahitian raw fish with lemon and coconut or dishes using French Polynesian vanilla.
Attendees of the festival will have a chance to win prizes including a trip to Bora Bora; black Tahitian pearls and Tahitian crafts and jewellery.

In addition to this four-day festival, special evening events will take place but please refer to the website for bookings and specific details:

Tuesday 23rd October: Mini Dance Show at Federation Square.
