Albany Creek has an air of Paris these days. Men wander the streets, arms laden with fluffy baguettes, while women carry elegant pastries to their chauffeur driven cars. Oh yes, it's true and it all comes down to the arrival of a delightful cafe - patisserie called French & Mor.
Rows of French "renaissance style bread" and pastries line the display cases of French & Mor, alongside tempting treats with exotic names made by Le Bon Choix Patisserie. Anyway, our "Akina" (12 layer chocolate-peppermint gateau) was divine and I'm rather keen to return and try some others. As for that Croque Monsieur, it was also tres bien (very good), but anything involving French bread and cheese usually is.
You have the choice of indoor or outdoor retro chic style seating, with those classic Parisian cane chairs dotted about the place and a large table full of papers and magazines to keep the readers happy. For kids, some books and a wooden rocking horse provide entertainment while they wait for their sweeties to arrive.
This is the place to come to celebrate your special occasions with a Modern French High Tea. For $38 per person, you have the opportunity to devour smoked salmon and cucumber sandwiches, a traditional fruit Danish, an almond croissant, followed by assorted petit fours, gateaux and an elegant pot of T2 tea or coffee. Sounds amazing and just might be the place to book in for that special Mother's Day treat. A Child's/Teenage High Tea costs $25 per person.
Went here today for Brunch with elderly in-laws who have difficulty walking too far - We parked basically at the front door, so it was minimal walking for them. Between us we had cheese/tomato croissant, jam doughnut, almond croissant and beef Turkish bread (with really tasty mustard and the Turkish bread was delish!!) and reaaally nice long black coffee and cappuccinos. Wonderful, friendly service (speedy too as they were quite busy). The cake selection was great - the bread looked wonderful. Smaller selection of savoury items which also looked really nice....Can't wait to go back again.
