"Non, mais j'aimerais bien!"? If, like me and have no idea what I just wrote but wish you did then you need to get yourself online to
Alliance Française de Toowoomba and join their innovative and very popular
French Language Classes Online. These newly developed and fully supported courses allow you to learn from highly qualified teachers in the comfort of your own home. All the online classes are delivered using Skype hook-ups.
Term 3 of the
French Language Classes Online is set to start on Monday, 20 July and runs through until Friday, 11 September 2020. It doesn't matter if you need to start from the beginning or already have some expertise in this wonderful language there is an online class for you.
The Term 3
Online French Language Courses and their class times are set out below:
Débutant/Beginners A1.1(A) – New Class: Wednesdays from 5.20pm to 6.50pm
A course for first-timers needing to start at the beginning. It provides a good blend of theory and practice and teaches the basics of the French language supported with facilitated conversation.
By the end of Term students will be able to:
introduce themselves and someone they know;
ask and answer simple questions about familiar topics; and
fill in forms with personal details.
The required text and CD set for this class,
BBC Talk French 1 is available for purchase from
Alliance Française de Toowoomba.
For those with some understanding of French there are other courses available to suit:
Débutant A1.1(B): Wednesdays from 7.00pm to 8.30pm
Are you able to speak rudimentary French to:
ask and give very basic information?
This course will develop your existing skills so you will be able to:
describe your family, job, personality and interests;
introduce yourself and someone you know;
use simple phrases and sentences to describe where someone lives and the main attractions of a city; and
express what you like and dislike.
Débutant A1.1(C): Wednesdays from 2.45pm to 4.15pm
If you have a bit more than rudimentary French this Course will enable you to have a normal conversation and:
talk about your daily routine;
organise an event with friends; and
learn how to talk about a past event.
Débutant A1.1(D): Tuesdays from 6.00pm to 7.30pm
This course has the same curriculum as Débutant A1.1(C) but is conducted at night.
Elementary A2.1: Tuesdays from 6.00pm to 7.30pm
Once you have mastered the basics this course will develop your general comprehension and communication skills in elementary French. It guides you through an in-depth study of French cultural practices and develops a clearer explanation of high language principles.
By Term's end you will be able to:
describe someone or something more precisely;
talk about your past life experiences;
express and describe your feelings; and
talk about an action in the near future.
Study in the
Débutant A1.1(B), (C), (D) and
Elementary A2.1 Online Courses requires the text and activity book,
Vite et bien 1 (2nd edition) which is available for purchase from
Alliance Française de Toowoomba. This all-in-one textbook includes the necessary audio CD and answer booklet for these courses.
Intermediate B1.1: Wednesdays from 6.00pm to 7.30pm
This course builds on the Elementary A2 Course and provides the skills to use French for business, travel or everyday uses. The course helps develop conversation, reading, listening and writing skills and improves general comprehension and communication capabilities in advanced French.
For study in Intermediate B1.1 the required text is
Vite et bien 2 which is available for purchase from
Alliance Française de Toowoomba.

Learning at
Alliance Française de Toowoomba is fun and most of the tutors are native-French speakers trained in language instruction. They all know how to get you speaking like a natural.
Class fees and discounts for all Online Courses are:
Standard (non-discounted): $200 per student per term;
Family: First family member pays $200 per term and all other family members pay $180 each per term;
Multiple Classes: The first class enrolment is $200 with all subsequent class enrolments $160.
Seniors: For students 65 years and over at the time of enrolment $180 per person per term.
Please note that discounted fees cannot be used in conjunction with any other discounts.
