Here is a fabulous night out just for the ladies. The 2017 French Film Festival is holding an exclusive Ladies' Night Out. At a special screening of Stéphanie Di Giusto's spectacular screen biography, The Dancer, the Festival organisers have arranged an absolutely glamourous Ladies' Party where you and your girl friends can enjoy fine French catering and sparkling wine before you enter the dazzling world of dance in 19th century Paris.

A night not to be missed and it all happens at the Palace Centro Cinema, 39 James St, Fortitude Valley on Friday, 24 March, 2017.

Drinks and canapés will be served from 6.15pm with The Dancer commencing at 7.00pm.

Admission prices for this very special event are:
$35 for general admission;
$30 for Palace members (Maximum of two); and
$30 for Alliance Francaise members.

Ticket are available here.

Become inspired by this story based on the actual events surrounding two rival pioneers of modern dance and theatrical performance in late 19th-century Paris.

See how Loïe Fuller (Soko), born in the American Midwest, became the toast of the Belle Époque cabarets and also performed at the Paris Opera. It was with her avant-garde Serpentine dance she became the radiating symbol of her generation. Although the physical effort required to perform the dance risked destroying her back, she never wavered in her quest for perfection. It was not until Loïe's met Isadora Duncan (Depp) the beautiful new dance sensation that Loie felt her stature, confidence and sanity were threatened.

This gorgeously cinematic film charts the remarkable struggles of a woman far ahead of her time and who revolutionised her art such a degree that her innovations still astound over a century later.

The film is in English and French with English subtitles.

An evening not to be missed so grab your girlfriends and dance your way to the theatre. Enter the glamorous world of dance in 19th century Paris and savour fine French catering and a glass of sparkling wine as you enjoy the sophisticated and grand, Ladies' Night Out.
