Online registration for the 8th Annual RAC Freeway Bike Hike for Asthma on Sunday March 18 is now open. This major fundraiser for the Asthma Foundation is the largest cycling event in WA and caters for all ages and fitness levels. All rides will finish for the first time in Langley Park, Perth. South bound lanes on the Mitchell and Kwinana Freeways will be closed to all traffic to allow cyclists to ride freely along the route.

The 70K Full Hike, a new distance, is restricted to fit adults and starts at 6.30am at Education Drive Mandurah near Challenger TAFE. This year, a special early morning train service will be running to enable Bike Hike participants to reach the assembly point on time. The 30K Mid Hike starts at 8.00am at Jetts Fitness in either Kwinana or Currambine. The 10K Mini Hike, an easier ride for families, children and beginners, starts at Bull Creek or Stirling railway stations at 9.30am. All participants need to assemble ten minutes before start time at all locations.
A worthy cause, and it might be in line with your plans for a fitter and healthier lifestyle in 2012. For more details or to register go to www.freewaybikehike.com.au
