Celebrating our Nation's day and living in the north
The Australia Day celebrations at Freemont Park in Elizabeth is a much loved annual event in the local community. This year's celebration has a real Aussie flavour of summer with many family-focused things to enjoy.
The event is on January 26th from 8am to 12 noon.

There will be the traditional huge and FREE barbeque breakfast, so get there early to start the day with a feed. Next it seems that the people of Playford and visitors will be able to have a beach experience, as they are shipping in some sand. Get the Australia Day long weekend party energy flowing with a game of Aussie beachside cricket. The kids can join in with some sand sculpting activities on the sand. Take a beach umbrella for shade and bring your Aussie flags and your picnic setting will look the part.

Feel the sand between your toes and the summer breeze on your face with the sounds of easy listening music with the family. Relax on the expansive lawn areas of Freemont Park and listen to the music featuring local entertainment. As always the City of Playford will honour notable local citizens with the Australia Day awards ceremony. Read more about the facilities at Freemont Park here.

Access to the park is from Yorketown Rd or Ilford Rd off Main North Rd, but the best parking would be at Elizabeth Shopping Mall, across the road from the park. This is an easy outing for families with no car with transport by train to Elizabeth Station. The morning is a fun celebration of who we are as a community and celebrating the life residents live in the North.
