Destress after Christmas with free yoga and meditation
If you're like most people then Christmas is actually a very busy and somewhat stressful time of the year even when it is filled with lots of fun and festive cheer. Most of us need a break or the chance to catch our breath after all the celebrations. A good option for de-stressing after Christmas is to attend a free yoga or meditation session at the Mt Cootha Botanic Gardens.
Bliss out with Twilight Yoga
On the first Saturday of the month at 4pm the gardens are hosting twilight yoga sessions on the Administration Building Lawn opposite the planetarium. The sessions are led by experienced yoga instructor Anne Noonan. Bring your own mat, towel and water and get ready to lose that Christmas stress.
Beautiful surrounds for meditation
On the first Sunday of the month at 11am there will be free meditation near the bamboo beside the lagoon and directly opposite Botanicals Cafe. You will need to close your eyes or if you are not comfortable with this bring sunglasses so that you can mimic the effect of closed eyes.
The Mt Cootha provide the perfect surrounds for yoga and meditation and as both sessions are free you've got nothing to lose by trying them out. For more information see the website.
