Try a variety of complimentary Yoga & Pilates classes
Yoga classes are great for your body and mind; free yoga classes are great for your body, mind and pocket. At the Lululemon Athletica store, just off Rundle Mall at the James Place, you can enjoy a variety of complementary lessons including vinyasa yoga, hatha yoga, kalari yoga, dynamic fitness, pilates, yogalates and many more. The instructors and type of the class change every month, with a more physical session on Tuesday and a more spiritual session on Sunday. You can check what type of class will be held by calling the store or looking it up on their website.

One of the most popular styles of yoga frequently offered at Lululemon is vinyasa or vinyasa flow, which is focused on synchronising your breath with your movements. One of the main features of a vinyasa practice is that to move from one posture (asana) to another you utilise a connecting pose (vinyasa) in order to keep the momentum going. Each pose will be accompanied by one inhale or exhale. Another widely known yoga style is hatha yoga. It follows the same principles as vinyasa flow but it is more gentle and slower-paced, allowing you to breath through each pose. Hatha is considered to be a better place to start your yoga journey. Having said that yoga classes taught at Lululemon are appropriate for all levels due to the nature of the yoga practice. Most of the yoga practices offer a few pose variations to suit beginners and experienced students alike.

Inside the store

So now you a bit about yoga styles you are ready to head down to Lululemon for a yoga class. All you need is comfortable sports clothing, a bottle of water, and some free time on a Tuesday night or on a Sunday morning. You can bring your yoga/pilates mat but it also can be borrowed at the store at no charge. This is an excellent opportunity to try various Lululemon mats that are on offer. Of special mention is the anti-grip rubber yoga mat with a lifetime warranty prosaically called "the mat". I have a different yoga mat from Lululemon (it is similar to the "Pure Mat") which I bought about 4 years ago and its been serving me well. All Lululemon clothing and accessories are produced in Canada and are of a supreme quality. It is designed for yoga, running, and working out, and as the website declares "most other sweaty pursuits".

On a final note, at the end of the practice everyone (even those who did not do a head stand) gets a cup of delicious T2 tea. Hence, Lululemon yoga classes have something for everyone - challenging physical exercise, relaxing spiritual practice, opportunity to meet new people, and exquisite T2 tea.
