Kids and families can be entertained by three free Christmas pantomimes to be staged at Brisbane City Council libraries during December.
While the Christmas pantomime has a long tradition in Britain, it's less well-known in Australia. This year, libraries are getting into the pantomime spirit, staging shows with a more modern, local flavour than traditional English pantomimes.
Domino's Christmas Kerfuffle tells the tale of Domino the elf, who's in the hot seat when Santa loses his recipe book. Can Domino save the day by making all of Santa's favourite treats? This show features magic tricks and fun. Suitable for children of all ages.
SuperSteph's Santa Surprise introduces us to another elf, SuperSteph, and her giant rabbit, Arthur. SuperSteph and Arthur have been given the job of organising Santa's Christmas party. They try to use their magical powers to do as Santa's asked -- but nothing quite goes to plan! Audience members need to help these two troublemakers sort things out before Santa gets back. Suitable for children of all ages.
Julian's Jingle Bell Whodunnit is a pantomime with an element of suspense. The Christmas Orchestra has gone missing! Without the orchestra, there can be no Jingle Bells fanfare and, without the fanfare, Santa won't visit Brisbane this year! Julian and his big red box of magic lead the audience on an adventure to find the orchestra members, play some carols, and get Santa back on track for Brisbane. Suitable for the whole family.
