1. Celebrate winter by being enlightened by The Light in Winter at Federation Square. Over the month of June, artists, designers and community members will transform the main courtyard of Federation Square, into an outdoor art gallery. Join the Solstice Celebration on Saturday 23rd June, from 5pm, where over twenty groups will join together for a free program of music, performance, food, and prose. On this night, partake in the glow of 1000 handmade lanterns to enlighten and warm your mind and soul.
2. Every Friday night in July, visit Docklands Waterfront to see a colourful 10 minute fireworks display, accompanied by music, beginning at 7pm. A fun event for old and young with best viewing points along Waterfront City Promenade. Head to dinner afterwards at one of the many delightful restaurants.

3. On the weekend of July 28-29th, over 100 of Melbourne's best contemporary and historical buildings will be open for public viewing at the annual Open House. Put on your comfortable walking shoes, obtain a free map, and walk your way around to view roof-tops, and interiors that will be sure to satisfy anyone with an interest in architecture and history.

5. On Wednesday evenings from June 6th - October 3rd, be entertained by free live music from 5-9:00pm at NGV Art After Dark. Food and drinks available for purchase, as are tickets to view the exhibition.
