Free Ukrainian festival for the whole family

On 17 August 2014, Federation Square will come alive with the fabulous Ukrainian festival. An amazing lineup of events will entice both the locals and the tourists.
City of festivals, Melbourne will be hosting the Ukrainian Festival with a big bang. Aimed at celebrating the 23rd anniversary of Ukrainian Independence, the Ukrainian Festival also marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of Taras Shevchenko. Taras Shevchenko is Ukraine's most celebrated poet and artist whose life and legacy are especially valued for the spirit of freedom that are depicted in his works.
The Ukrainian festival will showcase and promote the rich history and heritage of Ukraine. Live entertainment will incorporate Cossack dancing, choral singing and folk music. A wide array of food stalls will be offering traditional Ukrainian cuisine enabling you to savour their tasty fare. Unwind with the scrumptious food and delightful live music. There will also be educational exhibits and displays including rich tradition of embroidery and other tactile arts which will appeal to the art-lovers.
