What better way to learn about the Malay culture in Singapore than by experiencing it for yourself. The Malay Heritage Centre is helping locals and visitors to deepen their understanding and appreciation of the Malay culture through its music and shadow dance.

As one of the country's heritage institutions, the Centre connects the Malay community to its rich past and provides an avenue for present day expression. It is managed by the National Heritage Board in partnership with the Malay Heritage Foundation.

Every Thursday from 1 September to 31 December 2014, the Malay Heritage Centre is providing FREE live performances of traditional music for locals in the permanent galleries. You and your family can also interact with the musicians and try out the instruments from 10am to 10.45am. You can also enjoy the stories of Sang Kancil and his adventures as told by our dalang through a wayang kulit performance

Date: Any Thursday from 1 Sep to 31 Dec 2014

Time: 10am – 10.45am OR 3pm – 3.45pm (For group bookings only)

Note: All programmes are free but admission charges to the permanent galleries may apply to international visitors.
