Be part of living history

Greenpeace's newest Rainbow Warrior is making her maiden voyage to Australia and will be in Brisbane on the 4th of April 2013.

She has already stopped off at Melbourne and Sydney where delighted crowds have shown their support by getting on board.

Now it is Brisbane's turn. You are welcome to join in a free guided tour. This is a great opportunity to be part of living history.

The one Brisbane open day is part of a six week Save the Reef tour as this famous vessel heads up to far north Queensland.

The new Rainbow Warrior will then go further north up the coast and stop in Townsville, Airlie Beach and Mackay as she makes her way up the coast.

The crew will visit communities and record the impact of coal developments on the Reef, as well as calling Australians to take action.

The beautiful new vessel was funded entirely by donations from around the world.

Earlier Greenpeace expeditions have been in little more than ill-fitted vessels but the new Rainbow Warrior is a custom-designed, eco friendly and state of the art creation.

On the free tour you can see one of the world's most environmentally friendly ships. There will be a chance to meet the captain, visit the control room, see the helicopter landing pad and note the satellite communications system where live footage can be streamed directly from the live action to the media.

The family friendly event will also feature face painting and other activities for children

You will also be able to learn what you can do to help save the reef.

A fascinating outing for families and a worthy cause for all Australians.
