Don't like camping? Suck it up. Pitching a tent in a rural location is the best way to truly relieve your soul of the year's stresses. Get away from the crazy city and appreciate some time alone, or time to really bond with your family/ friends.
You haven't tried surfing? Well, what's wrong with you? South Australia has some of the most incredible surfing beaches in the country.
If you're a beginner, I suggest heading down to Goolwa and joining one of Kingo Surfing's classes. He's a professional and knows all the tricks of the trade. Or, if you want to work it our for yourself, you can just hire a board from him.
4) Party by the beach
Just about everybody associates the word Summer with the word beach. It's a lot easier to keep cool on hot days when you're near the ocean water and experiencing the coastal breeze.
So how about occupying one of the public verandahs and shades near your local beach? Many metro beaches have BBQ and playground areas.
If you're feeling daring, you can head down to Aldinga Beach and actually park your car on the sand. Then it's simple to set up for the day right out of your car.
