Campbelltown City Council is holding sessions specifically aimed at seniors who would like to become more tech savvy. Sessions will cover basic computer skills, emailing and other ways of communicating online including social media.
While technology courses aimed at seniors have become more prevalent in the last few years, this range of sessions is scaling new heights with classes being held not only in English, but also in Hindi and in Mandarin. This is such a smart move as seniors are often not so much constrained by their age, or by mobility issues, but by language difficulties.
All but one of the English sessions will be held at the Eagle Vale Library during the month of March. All the sessions taught in Hindi and Mandarin will be centrally located at H.J Daley Library, a short walk from the Campbelltown Railway Station.
While the bulk of the information is the same across all the sessions in the various languages, it has to be mentioned that the Social Media Sessions and the Introduction to iPad Session will only be available in the classes taught in English.
