Everyone is familiar with the taxi but few may be aware of its importance to the city. They hold a special place in Melbourne's history as a vital component of the city's transport system.

Entitled "Hello Yellow", this free exhibition explores the story of Melbourne's taxis through artefacts from the City of Melbourne's Art and Heritage collection including a placard from taxi driver protests, a taximeter, photographs, a 3D installation and many others.

You will be transported on a journey from 1909 when the first motorised taxi was introduced to the city, to the present day.
