A conveniently accessible hub for all your shopping needs
Featuring over 550 stores, Chadstone Shopping Centre boasts many designer boutiques and luxury brands within an all-encompassing fashion and entertainment hub. It is known as Australia's largest shopping centre and a popular destination for tourists visiting Melbourne.
Although only 17km from Melbourne city, getting to Chadstone by public transport can be a bit of a hassle with the need to hop on a train and then a bus, plus some walking in between. So, to make it more convenient for those without a car, Chadstone provides a complimentary tourist shuttle bus that departs from Federation Square as well as some hotels in the city. I recently took advantage of this service and was very pleased with it. The shuttle bus picks up at its dedicated bus stop at Federation Square on Flinders Street near the corner of Russell Street, and it was a pleasant 30-minute journey to reach Chadstone.
Upon arrival, you are welcome to enjoy the Visitor Lounge. Hot water and tea are available for those needing a moment to relax before shopping. This is also where you can collect your Chadstone Tourism Shopping Passport which contains information as well as various offers and discounts to entice you. The lounge is very comfortable and bathroom and shower facilities are available too.
Once you are done with all your shopping, just head back to the Visitor Lounge for your return shuttle bus to the city. Do bear in mind though that bookings are essential and can be made via their website. I would recommend booking at least one full day in advance to avoid any disappointment.
