The South Australian Museum has done it again!

With school holidays coming up many parents are in a panic trying to find ways to keep the kids busy.

Just when you need them most, the Museum has come up with a fantastic program of activities for the school holidays designed to capture the imagination of your children.

These will create great learning opportunities too, but you had better get in early and book because some only have limited places available.

Best of all, these activities are all free.



Capturing Biodiversity
Biodiversity is all around us! Learn about animals in nature, from the very small to the very large. Get involved and be explore the wonders of nature, what impact it has on us and why it's important.

Follow the Trail
Pick up a self-guided trail map from the Main Foyer and explore our State's amazing biodiversity in the South Australian Biodiversity Gallery.

Nature Photo Wall
Share your creative nature photographs with us! Take a photograph of yourself in natural surroundings, post it on the South Australian Museum's Facebook page, and we'll print them out and put it on our Nature Photo Wall.

Performances
Go on a wildlife safari with Wallaby Bob and learn about all the critters that live in your house and backyard.

Workshops
Photographing Nature
Bring along your camera or smartphone and learn some handy hints about how to take a great photo. Photograph yourself close up with some of the Museum's animal collections.

Pinning Insects
Learn about insect pinning techniques in museum collecting and research. Pin your own insects to take home. You are welcome to bring your own live or dead insect specimens in a sealed container for pinning.

Leafy Sea Dragon Puppet-making
Discover the art of foam construction, one of the techniques used by artists to construct floats for the Credit Union Christmas Pageant. Make your own leafy sea dragon puppet.
