Ideas to Stop the Boredom
Here are four of the top, absolutely free, ideas for entertaining kids during the school holidays on the Sunshine Coast.

1) Beaches

Enjoying the water

We are lucky to have plenty of beaches here on the Coast with many options to suit everyone. My top 3 recommendations are Kings Beach (for the water splash area and ocean pool) and Lake Currimundi and North Shore which both offer a wave-less area for those not-so-confident swimmers.

2) Mountain Climbing

Be rewarded up top with an amazing view

The Sunshine Coast has a range of mountains but my personal recommendations for kids are Mount Tinbeerwah (a really easy climb) and mount Coolum (more challenging but I've taken kids under ten before who really enjoyed the experience). Just remember to wear good grip shoes and take plenty of water.

3) Skate/BMX/Scooter Parks

High energy fun

What a great way to meet friends, get fit and burn off that restless energy kids build up - I'm told that Dicky's skatepark is the best but there are a many others scattered around the Sunshine Coast, the Council website lists them all here.

4) Bushwalking

Remember to look up

We have an amazing hinterland full of hidden wonders to go exploring in. The Sunshine Coast Website provides a nice starting point when choosing a trail. I personally love Kondalilla falls - not only does it have beautiful scenery but you can go for a dip afterwards to cool off.

So there you go, my top free picks for keeping the kids entertained over the school break. If you enjoyed this article please subscribe to more of my articles below.
