I bet you didn't know that there was such an acronym.
FOBO -
the fear of being offline! Perhaps, if you're of my generation, you might think that
FOBO sounds totally nonsensical? Well … I'm not so sure….have you ever booked holiday accommodation based on Wi-Fi access? I sure have. Have you ever checked your social media, Facebook or Twitter accounts during the night? You have? Well, then you more than likely are displaying a few symptoms of what could conceivably be diagnosed as
FOBO.

The reason for this article of mine is to ensure that you don't come down with the symptoms of
FOMO -
fear of missing out - in addition to
FOBO. Nowadays, my mind is just absolutely boggled by the amount of people who are walking around with their eyes downcast towards a hand-held device of some type. It's pretty frightening actually, I worry myself silly that they'll fall down the escalators or perhaps step into an elevator and not notice that the floor hasn't arrived at the same time as the doors opening.

Luckily these two are sitting! Image: Pixabay CC0 Creative Commons
But, besides the decidedly anti-social behaviour we all seem to be predisposed to with our smart devices, I worry about people not spending enough hours of the day outdoors, you know, actually missing out on the
beautiful one day, perfect the next days on the Sunshine Coast.
So, to ensure you don't
MO - miss out - on any incredible weather we might be having on the Sunshine Coast or any
exciting outdoor activities that are happening, by staying at home for fear of being offline, here's a very convenient guide (thanks to
Sunshine Coast Council) of free Wi-Fi locations, available throughout our Region.
