Get your kids out of the house and stuck into free creative activities as part of NGV's Kid on Tour Workshops.

Running for the second year at The Bundoora Homestead Art Centre, kids can explore all avenues of creative expression, from making, drawing and sculpture. Nurture the budding artist with many hands-on activities inspired by the current exhibitions running over summer at the NGV.



The classes will be held on Thursday 21st January and Friday 22nd January with two sessions each day. Morning sessions will be suitable for kids 5 to 7 years old, while the afternoon sessions are targeted to kids aged 8-10 years. Inspired by the artwork of the Hermannsburg Potters, kids can illustrate their favourite footy team or a Hermannsburg landscape on to a 3D paper pot. They can also create a range of artwork inspired by Andy Warhol and Ai Wei Wei's love of cats, including sketching cats in a fun and interesting new way.

Children can also create their own bottle brush and possum sculpture from colourful polypropylene, an activity inspired by artwork created by John Wardle Architects. This activity, developed in collaboration with Megara manufacturers, helps teach children about how the environment informs design.

While the kids get busy on their new masterpieces, parents can relax and enjoy the exhibitions at the Bundoora Homestead, a beautiful heritage building set among inviting gardens. The Homestead is a hub for local arts, with a program of contemporary art exhibitions, public programs and talks.



If you simply want to sit down and take a break, the café is a great place to unwind with coffee or lunch. The Bundoora Homestead's café offers a seasonal menu of fresh market and quality commercial produce, including devonshire tea.
