library@esplanade presents Insider Series: Zeitgeist of the Local Music Scene on 16 July from 3pm to 5pm.

The speakers will share their professional insights and experiences in the local music industry. They are Hidzir Junaini, Tim De Cotta, and Vanessa Fernandez. Elias Soh will moderate the session.

Insider Series

Hidzir was a freelance film critic and copywriter before becoming a full-time music journalist. Tim is a R&B and HipHop vocalist, bassist, songwriter and producer. Vanessa is a singer who participated at the Singapore Repertory Theatre Young Company at 12, and turned professional at 18 when she joined Urban Xchange. And Elias Soh is a multi-talented producer-musician-writer cum radio DJ.

SSO pre-concert talk on 15 July
The SSO Pre-Concert Talk series is a collaboration between the Singapore Symphony Orchestra and library@esplanade to bring new insights into the different aspects of the works performed at the SSO concerts.

For Shakespeare400: Romeo And Juliet Chopin Piano Concerto No. 1, pre-concert talk will be conducted on 15 July 6.30pm 7.00pm.

Lionel Choi, a former music critic with The Straits Times and Artistic Director of the Singapore International Piano Festival, will be the presenter.

For Romeo and Juliet Rachmaninov Concerto No. 2, the talk will be held on 23 July.

In Pre-Concert Talk: A Little Bit of Magic, tenor Brendan-Keefe Au and pianist Sim Yikai will share their latest recital project with soprano Ayano Schramm-Kimura. Magic takes the central theme of this collaboration.

The talk is scheduled on 15 July 2016, Friday, 7.30pm 8.30pm. Audiences could ask them related questions too during Q&A session.

As a bonus, they will perform classic compositions by Schubert, Mendelssohn and others. A Little Bit of Magic's actual performance will take place at the Esplanade Recital Studio on 2 August 2016.
