A short time ago, the only venue that allowed movies to be watched under the stars was Melbourne's Moonlight Cinema, with the buzz of insects in the stunning Botanical Gardens. Over the last few years more open air cinemas and even free cinemas have popped up and it seems Melbourne's councils have caught on. In the upcoming weeks you can view Footscray's Free Twilight Movies in the Park and enjoy a film on a colourful deckchair at Southgate's free films .

And now Sunshine have jumped on board. Brimbank City Council and SBA present 'Movies in the Park', showing screenings of kid friendly films like 'How to Train Your Dragon 2' and 'The Lego Movie' at Pollard Gardens, Hampshire Rd, Sunshine. Every 2nd Saturday, from the 17th Jan to 28th March, catch six great kid's films under the stars. And if you are not a child, not to worry, there are plenty of adult jokes in the Lego Movie.



This is a free event, so bring your family, or your date, picnic dinner, chairs and blanket for a fun night.
