Challenge Your Thinking
When you mix socializing, science and brain power, the effect can be quite astounding and even pleasurable.
How smart are you?
Ever wondered just how smart you really are? If you'd like proof (or otherwise) then pay a visit to this year's "Market of the Mind" as part of National Science Week. Visit the QV Building in August and discover how chemicals in the brain alter your life. Discuss the latest research results and even get interactive with some of our smartest researchers. Take on the scientists at their own game and challenge your vision of the universe.
Learn how your brain knows when you're hungry and come away with a completely different perspective. Understand why food tastes so good from Cooking for Geek author Jeff Potter. Perhaps you're into brain themed cocktails instead?
Maybe you'll be able to detect the pseudo science or speed-meet a neuroscientist. Join with the circus performers, the magicians and the charlatans and make this one market you'll never forget (unless you have one too many of those cocktails).
With interactive shows, live music, demonstrations and adult hands-on activities, you can make Friday 12th August quite a social evening.
This event is free for ages 18 years and above, commences at 5:30pm and runs until 9pm.
Public transport will get you there quite easily. Go to the Queen Vic building, corner of Lonsdale and Swanston streets on Friday, August 12th
