If you're free on a Tuesday afternoon and feel like doing something good for your body/mind/soul, then come down to Clifton Hill Yoga Studio for a free general yoga class from 2.30 - 3.45pm. It runs on every Tuesday (except if it's Christmas or New Years Day), all props are provided for the class and there is a change-room with toilet. You can cycle, catch the tram or drive and park nearby.
Clifton Hill Yoga Studio began in 1995. It teaches the traditional Iyengar Yoga method, which focuses on correct alignment and postural integrity. The building itself is stunning and houses three separate yoga studios - the main, large studio is downstairs, and there are also two smaller, more intimate, studios.
The idea of the free class is that you can sample what the yoga school is about and the classes it has on offer. They run a variety of yoga classes throughout the week, from 8-week courses to casual and speciality yoga classes. There is also a General class at 10am every day of the year. Often, there are inspiring international teachers in attendance. All of the teachers are of a very high standard and will keep an eye on your practice, helping you to advance and get the most out of your yoga.
However, if you'd prefer to continue attending the Tuesday free class (with an entertaining and knowledgeable teacher, Alan), you will benefit greatly and will always be welcomed at this studio.
