The
Melbourne Symphony Orchestra is presenting three FREE concerts in the Sidney Myer Music Bowl during February.
Melbourne twilight is the perfect backdrop for three
Melbourne Symphony Orchestra performances, being held in conjunction with the University of Melbourne. Enjoy some timeless classics with a wonderful outdoor ambience.
Saturday 14th February will be a tribute to lovers on Valentines Day. Enjoy Tchaikovsky's Romeo and Juliet Fantasy Overture, Ravel's Daphnis and Chloe: Suite No 2, Strauss' Das Rosenband, Morgen, Zueignung and Gershwin's Porgy and Bess: A Symphonic Picture.
Wednesday 18th February's theme is Summer Nights in Budapest. Everyone will enjoy Brahm's Hungarian Dances, Liszt's Piano Concerto No. 2 and Bartok's Concerto for Orchestra.
The final concert, Bohemian Rhapsodies, is being held on
Saturday 21st February, featuring the overture to The Bartered Bride, Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto and Dvorak's Symphony No. 8.
Each concert starts at 7pm, with gates to the Bowl open from 4pm.
Admission is FREE and the Bowl is an outdoor venue.
The Sidney Myer Music Bowl is located in the Kings Domain Gardens, Linlithgow Avenue in Melbourne.
