Where is the space on Australian television showcasing local and international musicians: a place where multi-genre and award-winning soloists and bands can be truly appreciated?

The truth is, this hasn't existed for a long time, and now renowned independent musician Jade Leonard has the solution. She's created a music performance television program, developing, producing and hosting The Musician Speaks, airing weekly on community station C31 from Monday 2nd March at 7.30pm.

Jade's passion on the topic is palpable.

Jade says, "I believe in creating space for musicians to be celebrated. That's what The Musician Speaks (TMS) is - a platform to allow artists to flourish, learn and grow and for us to witness the incredible breadth of their talent and learn more about their artistic processes".

"TMS is like watching a private concert in your lounge room. I figured that's the best way to honour these musicians- by getting up close and personal, letting them fully demonstrate their musical skills. We can find out more about the person behind the music this way".

Spanning multiple genres, Jade is showcasing a wide variety of performers across six episodes in season one.

Featuring internationally renowned, award-winning jazz pianist Joe Chindamo; Australia's most prolific Brazilian guitarist, Doug DeVries; up and coming underground electro-duo, Cocoa Noire; Opera Australia award-winning soprano, Kathryn Radcliffe; hot folk band Forest Falls; and soul singer songwriter, Arowe, the mix is as eclectic as Jade's record collection.

She enthusiastically adds, "it's an incredible privilege to be in the same room as these performers. I want to give a voice to those doing extraordinary work. And I'm so grateful C31 is giving me the opportunity to do that".

Across the course of her 20 year career as an independent contemporary musician, Jade's fearless and proactive attitude has seen her work with Australia's best, and release her music to wide acclaim.

Jade hopes this will be the beginning of her legacy to the international music community, "I have a big vision for this program, this is just the beginning of the journey! With this show I want to put a massive spotlight on talent all around the world. I feel like I'm contributing in a small way by providing a platform for artists to tell their stories."

Can't get C31 on your TV? Prefer to watch the show and meet the musicians with a bag of popcorn on your lap? We've got you sorted!

Celebrate in person with Jade and her guests with weekly screening parties at GH Hotel. The first 50 people through the door each week will receive a free glass of sparkling wine on arrival.

There's one thing for sure, you'll definitely pick up on Jade's unique magnetic energy and generosity of spirit which many find infectious, both on and off the screen.

"When I'm passionate about something, I make it happen. More of our musicians need to be seen and heard. I'm humbled that TMS is now a reality, and I'm so excited to share it".
