Australia is home to world's top tennis players for the month of January, all vying for top spot in tournaments around the country and culminating in the first Grand Slam of the year, the Australian Open in Melbourne. Here are the top events in Melbourne over the next three weeks:

Kids' Day Priceline Pharmacy Kooyong Classic, January 12: Twelve of the top male tennis players compete in this boutique event at the former venue for the Australian Open Grand Slam tournament.

The first day, Tuesday January 12th kids get to come for free, take part in fun kids activities and watch some tennis! The tournament continues on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday and includes top contenders Baghdatis, Lopez, Simon and Australians Kyrgios (hot off a win at the Hopman Cup) and Jasika.

Kids Tennis Day presented by Nickelodeon, January 16: See some of the top tennis players at this wonderful free event for kids in Rod Laver Arena. Last year Federer and Kyrgios were among the stars that greeted families in the audience and played tennis against Spongebob Squarepants and the Ninja Turtles, a wonderful introduction to the sport for kids.

The Australian Open Grand Slam Tennis Tournament, January 18-31: If you live in Melbourne, make your way to this premier event, lauded as the best Grand Slam in the world, the Australian Open is a two week event not to be missed. Grounds passes are great value, giving you access to all the outside courts and Hisense arena. Or you can buy tickets in the great arenas, Rod Laver and Margaret Court to see the top contenders and Aussie favourites. And there is plenty to do besides tennis including kids activities and live music.
