FREE Kids Mornings at Westfield Southland

Every Wednesday during school term time, little children and their families are invited to join in with an array of exciting 'incursions' at Westfield Southland.

Earlier in the year, pre-schoolers were treated to yoga sessions, facepainting, circus workshops, arts and crafts, water creature education, dancing, puppetry and lots more.



Westfield Southland has gone all out this term, with a series of 'Around the World' themed FREE kids activity mornings. Each Wednesday, children under 5 years are invited to join in with themed events that explore countries and cultures from all corners of the globe.

Your children will receive their very own passport, and with each global activity they attend, they will receive a passport stamp in return. If your children clock up 7 stamps in their passport, they will be rewarded with a $10 Toyworld voucher (500 gift cards available).





There are a total of 10 this term, all of which take place between 9am and midday held on level 2, outside Toyworld

Wednesday 15 July - Polynesian Parade



Your children will be taken to a corner of paradise and given their very own Lei to wear while they watch mesmerising Tahitian dancers perform.

Wednesday 22 July - Indian Escapade



Destination Mumbai, the home of Bollywood! Your kids will learn signature Bollywood dance moves and get to wear traditional costumes and henna tattoos.

Wednesday 29 July - African Bongo Bedlam



Your children will make up part of an African tribe, and learn what life is like on the Southland Sahara. There will be tribal mask making and bongo drum playing taught by African tribal leaders.

Wednesday 5 August - Chinese Lion Dance Training



Moving up and across to the Asian continent, your children will have lots of fun learning the ancient art of Chinese Lion Dancing.

Wednesday 12 August - Ancient Aztec Adventure



The Jaguar Warriors of the lost city of Tenochtitlan need help building a new home. Bring your mini Mexicans along to learn the ancient Aztec art of pottery and help rebuild this lost empire.

Wednesday 19 August - Italian Gastronomic Journey



Over to Europe, and your budding little bambino cooks will love dressing up in moustaches and chef hats to make their very own mini pizzas and sweet tiramisu. Bellissima!

Wednesday 26 August - Egyptian Treasure Expedition



Uncover the mysteries of Ancient Egypt with an ancient Egyptian Pharaoh tomb found at Southland! Aspiring archaeologist's are needed to help to excavate and uncover the lost treasure of Tutankhamen.

Wednesday 2 September - Salsa Like A Spaniard



Your little groovers will be jigging all over Southland with their new salsa steps after a morning of dance and maraca shaking. ARRIIBBAAAAAA, ARRIIBBAAAAAA!

Wednesday 9 September - Dreamtime and Didgeridoo Discovery



Be welcomed back to Australia and into the Dreamtime by indigenous elders where your kids will learn the stories of our land and the sounds of the didgeridoo.

Wednesday 16 September - Eureka Gold Rush



Ambitious little gold miners might just strike it lucky at the Southland gold mines! Kids will need to load up their mine cart with supplies because they will be taking on an expedition during the gold rush to pan for gold.

In addition passport stamps and prizes, if parents provide their first name, last name and email address and agree to be added to the Westfield and Toyworld email newsletter database they will also enter the draw to win a LEGO prize pack valued at $100.
