Oaklands Wetlands Tour
The Oaklands Wetland is sitting within the City of Marion. Take this guided tour through the Oaklands Wetland and learn about the important role it plays in our community. Not only does it provide a home to an extensive array of wildlife such as waders, cockatoos, ducks and river red gums, but it is also a water factory, cleaning up to 400 million litres of stormwater each year for use on local playing fields, street trees and more than 31 local parks and reserves.
The tour will be on Thursday, 9 February 2023, starting from 10am to 11am. Meet your guide David at the Oaklands Education Centre (on the western corner of the reserve bordering Oaklands Road), on Oaklands Wetland and Reserve 237-265 Oaklands Road Oaklands Parkland, and learn the complexities of wetlands and how the City of Marion is doing its part to be an environmentally conscientious organisation.
Please note this is a one-hour tour with 30 minutes allocated to a presentation and another 30 minutes for a walking tour and may be difficult for those with mobility issues. Parking can be limited; please allow time for this.
The maximum number of participants for each tour is 20 people, so please book your FREE ticket
