Ever wanted to learn something just for the fun of it? Something silly that you have no real use for except for the fact that it's fun and you can show off to your friends. There are a million easy things that you can learn no matter how old you are, some that you might have always wanted to learn, and all it takes is patience and a bit of practice.

So here are a few suggestions that you might like to try.

Juggling. This is just tossing multiple items up in the air and catching them again. Use something soft like small bean bags or rubber balls to practice with.

Whistling or whistle with your fingers, or an even harder whistle and hum at the same time. Not everyone can whistle so this may not be as easy as it sounds, but basically all you need to do is purse your lips together and blow.

Make Balloon Animals. For this one you will need some long thin balloons. When you have blown then up, twist them into shapes resembling animals or any other pattern you like.

Learn how to say Hello, Goodbye, and Thank You in 3 Different Languages. These words are usually pretty easy in any language and this one could actually come in handy one day.

Recite the Alphabet Backwards. This is a bit tricky but it can be done with some practice.

Pick Up Things With Your Toes. Place things on the floor and then try to pick them up using only your toes. Some people can do this without even trying.

Wiggle Your Ears. This needs concentration and co-ordination of the facial muscles. Some people can do this one fairly easily but most people will need to practice.

Write with your other hand. Just hold the pen in the hand you don't usually use for writing and try to write something. It's harder than you think but it can be done.

A Magic Trick. Find an easy magic trick and practice it until you can do it flawlessly.

Make Paper Aeroplanes or Cranes. Folding paper to make different shapes is called origami. It's fairly easy and most people can make paper planes. The crane is not too hard either and there are lots more shapes to try if you like it.



Thread a Coin or Pen Through Your Fingers. Put a coin or pen on your little finger and then proceed to thread it over and under your other fingers and then back again. This one takes a lot of practice and dexterity.

Card Tricks. Find some easy card ticks and practice them until you are really good at them.

If You Have A Dog, Teach Them To Do Tricks. Teach your dog to do some simple tricks like begging or fetching a ball. This can take a bit of patience, but don't get mad if your dog can't or won't do the tricks.

There are also loads of things that you can learn that are a little bit harder and take a bit longer to master. You might need to take a class or course or maybe get a book on the subject.

Learn Shorthand. Shorthand is an abbreviated form of writing, it's really handy for taking notes in meetings or lectures.

Learn To Play Cards. Learn how to play some cards games like poker, bridge, canasta or even solitaire.

Learn Bonsai. Bonsai is the Japanese art of growing miniature trees in containers. This art is thousands of years old and the fully grown miniature trees are quite remarkable.



Learn Morse Code. Morse code is a way of transmitting information using a series of dots and dashes.

Learn Calligraphy. Calligraphy is the art of fancy letter writing using a calligraphic ink pen but you can easily practice using an ordinary ball pen.

Learn Flower Arranging. Learn how to turn a bunch of flowers into a decorative display. Learn how to arrange flowers in a vase, beautiful bouquet, corsage or even a wreath.

Learn How To Play Tennis. Learn how to play tennis or perhaps squash, badminton or even table tennis.

Learn Self-Defence. There are different kinds of self-defence and this can be useful to know sometimes. From easy passive self-defence tips to full contact physical self-defence, check out the different types.

Learn How To Be A Barista. There is more to making a cup of coffee than meets the eye. Learn about coffee beans and flavours, brewing and blending. Learn how to make the perfect cappuccino, espresso and latte.
