Broke Brisbanites are spoiled for choice when it comes to free things to do. We've got
Southbank , the
Cultural Centre ,
hikes galore , and
many ,
many more . But if you want to get off the tourist track and see some of the hidden gems the River City has to offer, we've compiled a list of locations for every day of the week. For free day trips, something to entertain the kids, or even a fun date venue, check out the following activities.

City Hopper, various destinations along the Brisbane River
When you take a trip on a Brisbane City Council river ferry, the journey is just as good as the destination. The good news for the cash strapped is that the
CityHopper is free. Look for the red ferry between 6am and midnight, seven days a week.
Daisy Hill, Daisy Hill Road, Daisy Hill
Only 30 kilometres from the CBD,
Daisy Hill Conservation Park is almost 500 hectares of bushland housing native wildlife. Check out the animals, take a hike, or make use of the barbeque facilities, all for free.
Hair and Beauty Treatments
Trainee hairdressers and beauticians need models to practice on, and you need free beauty treatments. The
Hair Models Brisbane and
Hair and Beauty Treatments – Brisbane Facebook pages act as a conduit between the two groups. A match made in heaven!
Bike Repairs, Little Stanley Street and Clem Jones Promenade, Southbank
Riding a bike is cheaper (and more environmentally friendly) than driving a car, but repairs can be expensive. Not anymore, thanks to Southbank's free bike repair stations. With a variety of tools available, you can DIY your way back onto the road.
