Free Christmas movies under the stars
A series of fantastic Christmas themed movies will be screened at the Northbridge Piazza, in the lead up to Christmas. Free Festive Flicks will include an assortment of popular 'Free Flicks for Kids' and 'Date Night' movies with a Christmas theme.

These free movies will be shown from Saturday 6th December, 2014 until Wednesday 24th December, 2014, and include family-friendly classics such as The Grinch, Polar Express, Arthur Christmas, Deck the Halls, The Muppet Christmas Carol, and the smash hit favourite Frozen.

Proudly presented by the City of Perth, and as part of the Festival of Christmas 2014, these free, festive feature film screenings are a great way to spend a warm summer evening.

The Free Festive Flicks will be screened on the following days:

Saturday 6th December, 2014

Fred Clause (2007 - rated PG) at 5.30pm

Fred Claus, Santa's bitter older brother, is forced to move to the North Pole.

Sunday 7th December 2014

The Polar Express (2004 - rated G) at 12 noon

On Christmas Eve, a doubting boy boards a magical train that's headed to the North Pole and Santa Claus' home.

Elf (2003 - rated G) at 4pm

After inadvertently wreaking havoc on the elf community due to his ungainly size, a man raised as an elf at the North Pole is sent to the U.S. in search of his true identity.

Wednesday 10th December, 2014

Four Holidays (2008 - rated M) at 8.30pm

Kate and Brad are a happily unmarried couple who avoid spending Christmas with their families at all costs and instead travel to exotic locales. But when they find themselves fogged in at the San Francisco airport and their flight to Fiji cancelled, they have no choice but to spend the holiday with their divorced parents and the rest of their dysfunctional relatives.

Scott Calvin is an ordinary man, who accidentally causes Santa Claus to fall from his roof on Christmas Eve and is knocked unconscious. When he and his young son finish Santa's trip and deliveries, they go to the North Pole, where Scott learns he must become the new Santa and convince those he loves that he is indeed, Father Christmas.

Love Actually (2003 - rated M) at 8.30pm

From the makers of Notting Hill and Bridget Jones's Diary comes the ultimate romantic comedy. The hilarious Love Actually explores the ups and downs of relationships in the weeks building up to Christmas. Boyfriends and girlfriends, husbands and wives, fathers and sons and rock stars and managers all combine to make Love Actually not just one story but ten very different ones. Because if you look hard enough you will find love actually is all around.

Deck the Halls (2006 - rate PG) at 6pm

Two neighbours have it out after one of them decorates his house for the holidays so brightly that it can be seen from space.

The Grinch (2000 - rated PG) at 6pm

The Whos of Whoville love many things: their families, their town, and the festive season of Christmas. Yet, just outside of Whoville lives someone who hates all these things more than anything else The Grinch. Nasty, miserable and fed up with the Who's festivities, he hatches a plan to steal Christmas; the only thing standing in his way is a kind-hearted little girl called Cindy Lou Who.

Arthur Christmas (2010 - reated G) at 4.30pm

When one of 600 million children to receive a gift from Santa on Christmas Eve is missed, no-one pays much attention at the North Pole save for one. Arthur Claus is Santa's misfit son who executes an unauthorized rookie mission to get the last present half way around the globe before dawn on Christmas morning.

Frozen (2013 - rated PG) at 6pm

Fearless optimist Anna teams up with Kristoff in an epic journey, encountering Everest-like conditions, and a hilarious snowman named Olaf in a race to find Anna's sister Elsa, whose icy powers have trapped the kingdom in eternal winter.

The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992 - rated G) at 5pm

A retelling of the classic Dickens tale, with Michael Caine and Muppets. Cold and cruel to his employees - even his most faithful Ebenezer Scrooge, miser extraordinaire, is infamous and hated in his town. Spending Christmas eve like every other evening, alone with his fortune, he is held accountable for his dastardly ways during night-time visitations by the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and future.

The Holiday (2006 - rated M) at 8.30pm

After bad bouts of man trouble just before the holidays, Amanda Woods and Iris Simpkins are desperate for a change of scene. Traveling in opposite directions, each finds herself alone in an unfamiliar town, but neither remains a stranger in her new surroundings for long.
