Free Festivals in June near the city
Winter is coming, but there's no need to stay indoors. Check out these free and fun festivals to keep you active and entertained.

The Light in Winter

The Light in Winter is a celebration of the winter Solstice, through art and outdoor events. It is held from the 1st to the 30th of June in Federation Square.

Federation Square can be reached by train or tram, and there is parking next to Flinders Street Station and in the Federation Square Car Park.

Melbourne International Jazz Festival

This festival is a 10 day celebration of jazz for fans of all ages. There are a range of events from May 31st to June 9th across Melbourne. Free events include public concerts at Federation Square such as the Opening Celebration Concert on Saturday June 1st at 2pm.

Welcome to Winter in the Docklands

This event will be held at NewQuay Piazza at 429 Docklands Drive in the Docklands on the 1st of June 2013 from 2pm to 6pm and is free.

This day includes children's activities, kite making workshops, DJs and roving entertainers.
