Melbourne is a city of festivals which continue to inspire and awe its residents and visitors. The second month of the year will be jam-packed with free, fun and fabulous events and festivals which will ensure that you have the best Melbourne summer ever.

St Kilda Festival

Music-lovers will be swept off their feet by the week long free St Kilda Festival which will be organised in various venues in St Kilda. Scheduled to kick off on 6 February 2016, this festival promotes the music of talented local musicians. This festival will culminate with Festival Sunday on 14 February 2016 which will be the most remarkable day with all day long music, carnival rides, entertainment and more.

Yarraville Festival

One of the best community events of the year, the Yarraville Festival will be an amazing opportunity to have a wonderful day out with family. There will be around 75 market stalls selling merchandise of all sorts. Live entertainment including multicultural music and dance performances on 7 stages will entice festival-goers. Another highlight will be the fabulous dog fashion parade at 11am. Children will be rendered delirious with joy by activities like face painting, clowns and story time. Walking tours will also be organised.

Whittlesea Country Music Festival 2016 - Free Event

The Whittlesea Country Music Festival (WCMF) will commence at 12 February 2016 with an opening party at the Whittlesea Bowls Club (101 Church street, Whittlesea). But the main festival will kick off on the grounds of the Whittlesea Secondary College on 13 February 2016. There will be 2 stages offering platform to local talented musicians to enthrall visitors. A talent search and a busker's competition will be integral parts of the festival. There will also be fete stalls, an animal nursery, face painting, boot scooting, food stalls and more.

Clayton Street Festival
The best street festival of the year will be hosted on 14 Febraury 2016 at Clayton Road, Clayton. Multicultural music and dance performances will woo festival-goers. Daniel Crooks: Phantom Ride - FREE Exhibition at ACMI
The free exhibition ' Daniel Crooks: Phantom Ride' will start on 16 February 2016 and will come to an end on 29 May 2016. The Phantom Ride is a two-screen video work inspired by a history of how trains have featured in the cinema over the years. This installation will teleport you to another world as you watch an uninterrupted, seamless tracking shot that will take you through a fragmented reality, brought into life from a collage of Australian railways.

Sidney Myer Free Concerts
The cultural capital of Australia, Melbourne, will be filling the February nights with free concerts at the Myer Music Bowl. There will be three concerts. Take your pick from Dvořák Under the Stars, Summer Carnival or The Tang of the Tango or simply attend all three. Entry is free and gates will be opened to the public at 4.30pm. The duration of each concert will be 2 hours and will include a 20 minute interval. Pack your picnic basket and gather family and friends for a great cultural experience.

Lonsdale Street Greek Festival 2016
Lonsdale Street in Melbourne CBD will be hosting the 29th Greek Festival from 27 February 2016 to 28 February 2016. It will be a weekend of euphonious Greek music, scrummy Greek food and a wide array of kids activities including rides, storytelling and Greek dancing lessons.
