Located at the corner of Grey and Melbourne Streets, South Bank, South Brisbane, there is plenty to do and see at Queensland Museum. This is a list of free exhibitions at the Queensland Museum in 2023.

Connections across the Coral Sea**
At this exhibition, you can discover a place long ago when thoughts, ideas and objects were shared amongst early seafaring First Nations cultures. The connections across the Coral Sea reveal the latest archaeological research around the earliest movements and trade between the seafaring cultures of Papua New Guinea, Torres Strait and the northeast coast of Queensland. Located at level 2 exhibition space, this exhibition will be open until 9th July 2023.

Making Waves: A Century of Australian Coral Reef Science
This exhibition invites visitors to step inside the celebration of 100 years of Australian coral reef science and find out how scientists are protecting our precious reefs for generations to come. Located on level 2 Theatre, this exhibition will be on until 9th July 2023.



Insects
Upcoming exhibition in September 2023, this brand new exhibition will explore the surprising variety of ways insects do good for the planet and humanity. This exhibition coincides with the centenary celebrations of the Entomological Society of Queensland, Australia's oldest society devoted to the study of insects.



On-going Exhibition
There are also free ongoing exhibitions at Queensland Museum, such as the Dinosaur Garden undercover play area where you can step back in time in Brisbane's iconic Dinosaur Garden.

Visit Minerals: Inspirational Treasures from the Earth exhibition on the Mezzanine level, where you can find beautiful and perfect crystals by slow growth over geological time.

Anzac Legacy Gallery including Mephisto on display%% is in Great Gallery. The Anzac Legacy Gallery tells the fascinating story of the First World War in Queensland; the people and the things they held close - objects of war and warfare and personal items belonging to those on the front line

Lost Creatures exhibition will be closed for refurbishment until mid-2023. When the exhibition re-opens, you can find almost 10 roar-some years of Lost Creatures exhibition that is bigger and worth inspecting.

Discovery Centre and Wild State exhibition are on level 4 Queensland Museum. These interactive exhibitions are for inquisitive minds of any age.
