The days may be shorter, but free events up and down the Sunshine Coast means that you'll get more out of them. Festivals, fetes, and exhibitions await, and all of them are free.
Green June is a month-long celebration of eco-focused events and festivals in the Sunshine Coast. Two of the most notable are the Floating Land Festival and the Noosa Festival of Water. The Floating Land Festival runs from the 31st of May to the 9th of June, and includes a diverse range of performers and educators with a strong environmental focus, The events will be held at Boreen Point and Noosa. Noosa Festival of Water is on June the 30th at the Noosa Botanic Gardens and Lake Macdonald Amphitheatre in Cooroy.
The Woombye Library Book Sale is a great way to stock up on Winter reading for next to nothing, and entry is free. This fundraising event runs from the 15th to the 16th of June, so get there early at 8.30am to grab the best bargains. The Woombye Community Library sale will be at the Lower Hall, Woombye School of Arts Hall, on the corner of Hill and Blackall Streets, Woombye.
The North Arm Fun Fair on June 2nd promises to be a relaxing and fun afternoon for family and friends. Check out the animal nursery, market stalls, face painting, and cake stands. The fair will be at the North Arm State School Oval, Fairhill Road, Yandina.
Café By The Sea - Paper and Clay features mixed media collages and sculptural works, and is another free event, held between the 1st and the 27th of June. The artworks will be featured at the Pomona Railway Station Gallery, 10 Station Street, Pomona. Enquiries:
